Sunday School Director - Mr.
Ken Smith
Sunday School guides believers, through a small group setting, in understanding the nature of the Church and
how it functions as the body of Christ. Our weekly Sunday School, in addition to daily devotions, can help believers experience
the importance of:
-
Developing healthy relationships with Christ and other believers
-
Spending time with other
believers
-
Helping one another grow
stronger in the Lord
-
Serving together to accomplish the kingdom's
purpose
Our church continues to need true disciples of
Christ, believers who understand their mission and then go out and reproduce themselves. God uses many ways today to call
people to new opportunities of service. Sometimes He confronts them with a need, such as teaching a Sunday School class. Sometimes
God may give an individual a deep passion for a ministry, or a burden for something or someone. When God acts unexpectedly
in peoples lives, He often calls them to serve in a particular way; but they may not grasp it immediately. As people seek
clarity, the Holy Spirit will guide them to God's specific will. It always will conform to Scripture. That is why Bible Study
and Sunday School are so critical in serving God faithfully.
Reach*Teach*Minister
We have in place now in our Sunday School the
basic plan to REACH-Teach-Minister. This plan is not something new, it comes from Matthew 28:18-20
"Jesus came and spake unto them,
saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever
I have commanded you: and, lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
To reach simply is to go out and visit
people that God has put on your heart and show them the love of God.
To teach is to instruct & train them
in God's Word from the Bible and through personal study time.
To minister is to help people with their
needs, sharing the love of Christ.
Remember what Jesus said, "Lo
I am with you always." So now it is up to us here at Kinnett to Reach, to Teach, and to Minister
to people knowing that God will be with us, helping us, showing us, and guiding us all the way.
As the hymnist said, "It is no secret what God
can do, and what he's done for others, He will do for you."
